Safety Reports

Safety is a vital concern when using an ionic foot bath. Since our first introduction to the technology in 1999, we have seen many ionic foot baths introduced into the marketplace. While no one has been able to duplicate the safety of the IonCleanse® units, several of our competitors have made claims regarding the safety clearances of their devices. Several things to note when browsing the competition:

  1. The use of wristbands with ionic foot baths. Almost all of the ionic foot baths manufactured in China and the Orient make use of wristbands. While the functional claims of the wristbands are varied and sometimes inconceivable, the wristbands serve one function: to ground the individual through the unit. Because of the contact with the wrist, any fluctuations in the wall current may have a direct path to the heart. As noted in our safety comparison chart (vs the Competition tab), the leakage current running through the wristband in these units is extremely unsafe.

  2. The sum of the parts is greater than the whole. Just because the individual internal components of the device have been tested for safety does not mean the device as a whole is compliant. Several ionic foot baths make use of simple household components that have been tested safe for applications that have nothing to do with footbaths. A current regulator for a fan control switch may not regulate current in a manner appropriate for an ionic foot bath that interacts with your body.

  3. Official safety reports. Aqua Chi, Aqua Detox, and the ionic foot baths from Bella Spa Products along with countless imports from China claim to have passed the CE safety tests. Ask these manufacturers to produce the 150 pages of documentation necessary to support their claims. The IonCleanse® Premier™ has passed all of the applicable tests to receive CE clearance. The actual reports along with the FCC testing are listed below.

The reports on the IonCleanse® Premier™ are from independent third-party companies that evaluate products based on FCC and CE conformity testing. Many of the tests validate overall product safety; however, several of the tests also confirm high product quality. For FCC compliance, for example, a device must pass the Electro-static Discharge test. You will recognize this phenomena if run your feet across a carpet and touch an operating device. The “static discharge” from your body to the device should have no impact on the function of the unit, as is the case with the IonCleanse® Premier™. Without proper design, this type of static discharge could create a short in a machine causing the need for repair.
